Why People Fail

Here is some great advice I read this week from a guy who calls himself The Maestro. I found it very applicable to us real estate investors and decided to pass it on.

1. Fear

Fear is crippling. We've all felt it. But, contrary to popular belief, fear is not a natural emotion. You overcome your fears by instilling confidence in its place. Confidence trumps fear every time.

2. Motivation

Bottom line, this is the most important part of your success. You don't have to be the smartest guy in the room. You only have to be smart enough. But, you DO have to be at least one of the most motivated people in the room. Look, you're success, and income, has a positive correlation with your motivation. If you want it badly enough, you will have it, no doubt.

3. Knowledge

This is the least important of the three, but important, none-theless. Well, I shouldn't say it's the least important. I should say it's the easiest to accomplish. In the years I've been coaching people in wholesaling, I've never met one person who wasn't intelligent enough to make a lot of money in this business. Never. And there's plenty of information out there for you to study from, whether it comes via a coach, like me, or books or videos.

And, if you didn't notice, all three of these are interrelated. If you're properly motivated, you will possess the confidence to succeed, and also the desire to acquire the knowledge.

And nothing will stop you.

What is "One of the Ten?"

Investing in real estate has become an exciting, trendy, and even sexy thing for people to do. Cable channels fill up their lineup with shows such as "Flip This House," "Renovation Realities," and "Property Ladder." These shows show how huge profits can be made by buying low, fixing low, and selling high. For many people it is a very enticing way to start off on the path to riches.

The problem is that statistics show only about ten percent of those people who set out on the path to real estate investing freedom actually stick with it long enough to see the profits promised. Many of them buy programs, attend seminars, but never completely take action. Those are the ninety percent, but this blog is dedicated on making you become "one of the ten."

Perhaps the biggest part of becoming "one of the ten" is simply commitment. Decide today, and every day you set out to work on your investing business that you are committed to being successful. There are going to be days where you feel completely anxious, overly burden, frustrated, and that there is no point to investing another dollar or minute to your business. Remember that you are "one of the ten" and have committed yourself to being successful.

Decide today if you are part of the ten or part of the ninety.
